In this week’s edition of our Dining on a Dime series, we focus on local deals from around the country. Read on for specials on smoothies, restaurant discounts, buy one – get one free burgers, and more! 1. Jamba Juice Through August 15, Jamba Juice locations in select “showdown” areas, including Los Angeles and New York, are accepting any McDonalds smoothie coupons. That includes coupons for freebies. Not in a showdown area or don’t have a coupon? The page also includes a $1 off coupon good at any Jamba Juice good through September 6. 2. “City with Soul” Band Become a fan of Jackson, Miss. On Facebook or visit the city’s Convention & Visitors Bureau to get a free purple wristband. The promotion entitles the bearer to discounts at area restaurants and other attractions, including a free berry tea with lunch at Bon Ami, 15% off your meal at King Edward Grill and a 20% discount at the Regions Plaza location of Subway. 3. The Summit The Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State in Clifton has a three-course, $33 meal on Friday nights, as well as half-priced wine. 4. Coco’s Bakery Restaurant This bakery restaurant chain (multiple locations in California, Ariozna, Colorado and Nevada) has taken after IHOP’s kids-eat-free example. Through August 31, get one free kid’s meal with the purchase of an adult entree after 4 p.m. Kids ages 10 and younger only. 5. Surfside Spice The restaurants in Surfside Fla., weren’t eligible to join the Miami Spice promotion we featured a couple of weeks ago (valid through the end of September), so they created a prixe fix deal of their own, offering three-course, $22 lunches and dinners through September 30. 6. Cold Stone Creamery SmartSource.com has a printable coupon good for two Like It size creations (ice cream and one mix-in) for $5. Participating locations only. Good through August 15. 7. Travers 1864 Restaurant Week From August 22-26, 40 restaurants in or near Albany, N.Y., are offering three-course meals for $18.64. (That’s the first year of the iconic Saratoga horse race.) 8. Wienerschnitzel Purchase one double chili cheeseburger and use a print out coupon to get a second one free. Participatig locations only. Offer good through October 2. 9. Apiary In celebration of the bar’s second anniversary, it’s offering a 30% discount on specialty cocktails and wines by the glass for TastingTable.com readers.
